In our enthusiasm for fair play and desire for inclusivity for all views, a competition was created where the general public was invited to design a new flag for the burgeoning democracy.
Daily, the local press published images of entries proposed by all kinds of enthusiasts. Ironically in the end, a professional commercial company was employed to design the flag that become symbolic of a new national identity.
