At a glance, this image reads as if the right figure in the upper half is reflected in the lower half, as suggested by the abstract ripple effect. This is not so. The lower half of the work is a lino cut printed upside down to highlight the reality of how our world has been disrupted over the last year. Subliminally recalling Nature, this particular green reminds us optimistically that Nature prevails, in fact the environment did better in lockdown.
